Background

Introducing the TRAIL-ED Interactive Pocket Guide to the Amanda Trail, made by a generous Braemar Charitable Trust award and the dedicated support of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians and their Cultural Services Department. This guide aims to enhance understanding of coastal Tribes' history and culture, promoting awareness of Yachats’ Indigenous heritage and respect for native traditions. As you journey from Yachats to Cape Perpetua, discover the significant plants and wildlife that have sustained Native populations both historically and today. With interactive prompts and challenge questions, this resource invites hikers to forge deeper connections with trail’s rich cultural and natural elements.
